Child care

Eindhoven has plenty of choice of child care facilities, including agencies for in home child care, day care centers and SPIL centers (integrated primary education, play school and child care). The city is among the leaders in the SPIL concept. Child care is not free in the Netherlands. You can ask whether your employer is prepared to make a contribution to the costs.

SPIL centers

SPIL stands for ‘Spelen, Integreren en Leren' (play, integration and learning). Eindhoven intends to create around fifty SPIL centers, centered around the developmental opportunities for children from 0 to 12 years. They all have the same basic structure, consisting of primary education, playschool and child care. Consideration will be given to whether special facilities are needed in each specific neighborhood. The key factor is the needs of the users (children and parents). For more information, visit http://www.eindhoven.nl/inwonersplein/onderwijs-1/spil.htm (in Dutch).
