At present around 18,000 children attend primary education or primary schools for children with special needs in Eindhoven. There are 14,500 secondary education students. The combined MBO (secondary higher education) institutes have more than 12,000 students, and there are 13,000 students at HBO (higher vocational education) institutes. Finally, the TU/e (Eindhoven University of Technology) has more than 7,000 students.
