Student doctor

The general practitioner (in Dutch: "huisarts") gives full medical assistance according to the norms set for the practice of medicine by doctors in the Netherlands. We strongly recommend you to register with a general practitioner in your neighbourhood on your arrival in the Netherlands.

If you need a general practitioner the most practical thing to do is to visit the general practitioner who lives as close to your home address as possible.
More and more general practitioners co-operate in health care centres (in Dutch: "gezondheidscentra"). Eindhoven is divided into districts which all have a health care centre.

Consultations with a doctor are not for free and the same goes for the student doctor. One has to make an appointment by telephone between 08.30 and 10.30 hrs beforehand. Do not forget to bring along your health insurance card.

Student dentist

Eindhoven has a special dentist's practice for students (in Dutch: "studententandarts"). One can make an appointment with the dentist by telephone between 09.00 and 10.00 hrs. Please check whether you are properly insured, because no free service is available.
