City Council (general)

The municipality of Eindhoven has a City Council with 45 members. Councillors are elected once every four years. Day-to-day management is by the Board of the Mayor and Aldermen. The mayor is appointed for a term of six years by the crown. He is chairman of both the City Council and the Board. Aldermen are appointed by the members of the City Council for a term of four years.
