You can expect a high quality level of cultural facilities in a city with a population of around 210,000. In the last fifteen years the city has made big investments in improving and extending the existing facilities. The result: a brand-new music center, a new ‘middenzaal' for the city's theater (‘Stadsschouwburg'), and a new podium for specific kinds of pop music. But of course you can also make your own music or (learn to) act.
Plaza Futura
Each year Plaza Futura's two movie theaters show around 2,800 different movies that don't normally reach the big cinemas. There are about 180 theater presentations a year in the theater hall (with a flat floor).
