MLY presents new collection at Amsterdam International Fashion Week

On July 25th 2008, the official presentation of "Made in Someland", the SS 09 collection of MLY, was held during the Amsterdam International Fashion Week. MLY is a Dutch, Eindhoven based fashion label, founded by Emily Hermans.

The production of MLY's SS 09 collection takes place in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, where Hermans lives and works herself. "If I'd have production done halfway across the world, the gap between design and production would be too big for me", she explains. "Because design is so close to production, I can see more, try more, and get inspired by craftsmanship and production techniques."

Within The Netherlands, Eindhoven is known as a bastion of economical and creative drive, a city where new technology and far-reaching innovation enable people to share knowledge faster than ever before. Eindhoven, which positions itself as a "Brainport" city, strongly encourages its creative industry, recognizing that creativity is essential for general economical development and innovation.
The city is proud of the fact that the photo shoot of Made in Someland took place in Eindhoven, and that the collection showpiece is an "Eindhoven" dress.
