It is Dutch Design Week's ambition to join this national development and to draw up a programme in which optimum attention is paid to the impact of creativity on society.
Eindhoven: European Capital of Design 2006
Eindhoven may already have initiated a major event with the Dutch Design Week, but its ambitions go even further. For 2006 the city was aiming at being recognized as the European Capital of Design. That title certainly has been justified. Because for Eindhoven, design - together with technology and knowledge-based industry - is an essential basis for the city's economic development and competitive strength.
