The face of Eindhoven is changing rapidly. Tower buildings like De Regent, De Admirant and the characteristic Vesteda Tower show a new sense of self-confidence. But old buildings certainly aren't being forgotten. For example the Witte Dorp area (the ‘white village') is a preserved urban site. The city council is promoting the work of architects and urban planners by awarding a biannual architectural prize.

The ACE (Architectuur Centrum Eindhoven) is located in the Witte Dame building. The center organizes numerous activities in the field of architecture and urban planning, such as lectures, excursions and city debates. It is also involved in the organization and presentation of the city of Eindhoven's biannual architectural prize: the Dirk Roosenburg prize.
